Whisper Away Poem by Waver Sullivan

Whisper Away

For a moment time stood still, only to the sound of my heart
Pounding away like the beat of a drum in the distance.
Is this the meaning of tragedy?
Alternatively, is it sympathy?

Why does the twisted nature of man destroy him? Is it greed? Alternatively, is it need?
Today I hope everything that I am will flourish and cast away
the memory of wanting, the meaning of being in need?

Fear accompanied by mountains of joy.
What hope I have is wavering along with the wind
Skipping along the shallows, my soul is crying out from the shadows.

A child may know frivolity or ferocity.
Prejudice is always profound, what can we do?
Let it be? Is this the right way or should we care in our life,
And let love stay?

Do not demolish me like yesterday.
This sound is whispering thoughts for today.
