White Earth Of Peace Poem by Kimberly Burnham

White Earth Of Peace

"Wanaki" the Ojibwe word for peace
literally white earth
as if covered in apple blossoms
or snow
or ash from a fire pit where dinner is cooking
and stories are being told
and a feeling of "bangan"
it is peaceful
tt is quiet
in Ojibwe or Chippewa
spoken in North America
