White Lies

Rating: 5.0

To ease
the depression
in the growing number
of brains caring
for the growing
number of bodies
with dying brains,
brains are lying
that they're stopping
brains from dying.

Sometimes it is unavoidable to tell a white lie, and still be a truthful person. To tell the whole truth about trivial matters is unrealistic. A searching look at dementia in old people, and their health carers. The poem gains from being short and concise. M. Walker.

i agree with Veeraiyah's comment. sometimes. SOMETIMES telling even 'really real' lies is useful, but i rarely do THAT, choosing instead to (usually) get in trouble by telling the truth or just not telling, one way or the other, ........... and taking my chances that i'll get away with it! if indeed you are talking about medical personnel caring for the (especially) aging folks who are losing their memories.............. of past events and even which room to use for the toilet................ i agree. or at least i concede that it is a losing battle and a 'waste' of time and resources. well done. favorite lines: brains are lying that they're stopping brains from dying. this 'gem' shall grace the October a showcase for PH poets, found in my poems section of my PH site. thanks. bri ;) i'll also send to MyPoemList................., if i don't forget.
