Who Is In My Attic? Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Who Is In My Attic?

Rating: 3.0

WHO IS IN MY ATTIC?

I want to write a Tanka
is that really what you want, Sylvia?

Oh no, I want to write a Senryu
but this is up to all of you

I am dyslexic at typing
never read or write

for submitting a verse
I have to rehearse and rehearse

correct and correct
until I THINK it's perfect

but my love told me
there is no such thing as perfect, Sylvie

I think he's right
and higher, my attic is getting bright

but...WHO is in my attic space?
someone I don't know is in that place

Do you mean the attic in your house?
yes baby in my house called body

the attic of my body, in Dutch: 'upper room'
who's in my attic? In Dutch 'attic' or 'upper room'

are you still following my explanation?
yes, dear, I'm still following your explanation from my windowsill

now I know WHO is in YOUR attic
your genius brain with typing dyslexic

because according to Artistic Poetics
you have a little dyslexia
when typing,
that's dyslexia euphoria,
luckily not dyslexia melancholia!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poet's Notes: This is: Impressionistic Poetic Art Zolder is in Dutch 'attic' the same as 'Bovenkamer'. With 'Bovenkamer' is meant: the Bovenkamer in human-being in the Dutch language, Which means the upper space in the human being, that is in the head./ mind / brains, So if you translate ATTIC that is ZOLDER or BOVENKAMER meaning BRAINS
