Who You Were Poem by Eduardo Torres

Who You Were

I remember I once met a girl
who was first shy,
but then became very talkative
who would say hello to me every time she'd walk by,

Who would make me smile after every bad game,
she had great friends,
but lost them in the end,
she moved and everything turned around,

Now the distance between us,
makes us enemies,
but people do change,
from what I've seen

We hardly talk
a hello and goodbye is all we say here and then,
thinking of what a friendship we had,
and questioning why things went so bad
is still a question to be answered

Hoping that someday you look back and think of what we used to have,
hoping that I can meet the girl who you once were.
