Whom You Trust? Who? Poem by Ging Taping

Whom You Trust? Who?

Rating: 5.0

Trust is easy to give but hard to keep.
Once the bridge of trust is broken,
it's hard to fix..

They said trust no one but yourself,
coz' you know what's inside the shelf..
But why?
Can't trust your tongue..
Sharper than knife,
Clever than sword,
Louder than huge clanged..

Why trust your heart..
When it can tear you apart..
fickle, loving, meek
sometimes weak..
Heart and Mind collide
But heart move w/out consulting
the 'Master Mind'.
When the result went down,
All suffer what's left undone.

To whom you can trust?
Even your shadow leaves you in the dark.

there is some good observation and advice in this poem. of course a lot of people will still follow their heart, and SOMETIMES that will work out just fine! ! a little rhyming is nice. too much rhyming sometimes gets in the way [but not always; i almost always use rhymes, hopefully successfully]. but as a native-speaker of English i SHOULD have more English words in my head to work with to rhyme successfully! ! nice one, Ging. i'll send to MyPoemList and put it into my/our June showcase for PH poets on my PH site. thanks. bri :) p.s. “Even your shadow leaves you in the dark.” i agree with Lyn Paul: Amazing words. well, the words aren't amazing, but the way you use them is clever and very effective! other favorite lines: Can't trust your tongue. and But heart move w/out consulting the 'Master Mind'.
