I see in your eyes the truth
yet u persist that what you say is real;
I can smell it on you breath;
the scent of moonshine.

I can see in your eyes
the lust you feel for her;
yet you have the nerve to sit
there and deny it all.

why do u lie to me
when u know I see it
why do u lie to me
when you know I hate it
why do u lie to me
when you know I’ll find out

You say you’ve been busy
trying to keep your grades up
when you know I can tell
you’ve been out all night

you say you’ve been busy
with trying to get a job
when really you sat there
all night and talked with some girl.

why do u lie to me
when u know I see it
why do u lie to me
when you know I hate it
why do u lie to me
when you know I’ll find out

I know, so why do you lie?
