Why can't we be together?
I want to see your smile I want to hear your laughter.
I want to hold you tight and never letting go,
Even if I know it will never be possible.

Why can't we be together?
Maybe we'll be happy ever after.
How would you know if you don't give it a try?
And I promise if I fail I won't cry.

Maybe we are just not supposed to be together,
And there is no such thing called forever.
But I believe I will never give up,
Even though I don't know if I would ever be able to get up.

Why can't we be together?
I'm asking you deep from my sorrow deep from my heart.
It's okay if you don't give me an answer,
Because my love to you can only be denser.
