Why Couldn't English Be Easy? Poem by Koffi B Sossou

Why Couldn't English Be Easy?

Rating: 4.9

Why couldn't English be easy?
Even the great poet Edwards complained about it
Why couldn't English be easy?
[He] could be she
[She] could be he
My cat is [she] and my baby is [it]

Why couldn't English be easy?
My son came home from school with the same complaint
Their teacher told them that he and she are John Cena in a person
And my son asked me if he were she or he
Their teacher said 'future will tell'
Now my son is confused

Why couldn't English be easy?
[He] could be a mother
[She] could be a father
I'm scared and muzzled
I don't know how to address my son
And the outside world tomorrow

Why couldn't English be easy?
Don't blame me ‘cause I'm not a native
And now I'm afraid
I don't want English to sue me
After all, I don't know if he is he or she
Why couldn't English be easy?

'100 words only'! ! ? OK: GIVE, ME, YOU, TAKE, WANT, NEED, YES, NO, SEX, FOOD, DRINK, SLEEP, TOILET PAPER, SHELTER, AIR CONDITIONING, BOOKS, COMPUTERS, PHONE, TRANSPORTATION, PET, POCKETS, HEARING, SMELLING, TASTING, FEELING, SEX (AGAIN) , [[that's 32 words I think]] (continued)

Why couldn't English be easy? English is wonderful language that is the only medium through which we ensure global communication bypassing rules of Grammar.

Perhaps English is getting simpler with the advent of computer and mobile. We don't have to type 'YOU' and instead use 'U' .'D' takes place of 'The'.Will it be easier or more complicated, the time will say.

(Part-2) In English we call 'Uncle' to father's brother, mother's brother, to father's cousin or mother's cousin. But we have separate words for these relations. We call 'Mamu' to mother's brother and 'Badabapa' to father's elder brother and 'Dada' to father's younger brother.

English is my second language and the same question arose when I was learning it as a child.I think English is far more easy than my own language-Odia.

Well, PH says that I DID vote already. Hell, I'll send it to my favorites today. YOU sent me a message (I think about this poem) saying you 'personified' the word 'Love'; maybe you meant the word 'English'? ?

Great! Thank you. 'Love' is personified in ''I Praise Your Bitterness''.
