Why I Cry

Tonight I want to cry
But don`t ask why
Because I can`t answer that
Because I don`t know
And it is as impossible
To answer thee, as it is for me to fly
Maybe that`s why I´m crying
Because I want to fly
To roam free
Unchained, untamed, unseen
I want to be a shadow
Silently traveling through time
Or maybe a star
Shining on the darken sky
Or maybe something else
Something yet unthought of
So that`s why I cry
Maybe, perhaps, is that why?
No, I cry for every bad I did
And that I didn`t
I cry for all my memories
For all my thoughts
That went forgotten
For all those friends that died
And those that didn`t
So is my crying for all that?
Maybe, perhaps, come to think about it, no
No, I cry for time
It`s passing like it´s running
I cry for all my years
And those that will fall upon
I cry for for all those times
I won`t know what to do
I cry for everyone
Vanishing before me
And mother, father, if you see this
I´m crying for you too
But is that true?
Am I really crying for all that?
Yes, I believe I am
But no, there´s something more
There is another I cry for
Beautiful and graceful
She stands above all else
Yes, I know now why I´m crying
I`m crying for my love

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
