Why I Write
Why i write
My little town
is a world in its own,
set apart from the wider world.
It is a town with no heroes,
but a town that never fell in love with fear.
The extent of its history is limited to
two or three poets,
an architect,
three blacksmiths,
and six stone-carvers.
I am a carved, walking pebble
of this heroless town,
not strong enough to fight—
that’s why I write.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
