Winter Inside Poem by Joshua Bantum

Winter Inside

It snows on me
Lightly from above
Your naked body lays over me
Smoking dust in
You breeze life into the amber meteor that darkens to a light’s shadow
With your pause of breath,
My cold lips tickle your inner crossed thigh
But you just smile
And wave me off
I cuddle for you to come back to me
But instead your still
Eyes glow visible by the hot red cherry you control
Your off in some far distant land
Where these sheets lay frost
Blue tinted white all around,
Where it snows ash
And the wind blows smoky clouds of death over our frictionless bodies,
And you’re finally able to lie still,
Not having to try and be beautiful,
But just being.
