Wintry Spring Absence Poem by Ivo Rolo

Wintry Spring Absence

Rating: 2.0

Every time I see your face
I think of things not pure,
Unchaste. And with the most
Primal, unintentional instinct,
Your slihouette remains, like the Song,
Carved in the back of my mind,
Along with it's ethereal details.

Instead of trying
To abstain such thoughts; I grew
To embrace your physical absence
And cohabit with your emotional
Omnipresence. I grew to dream
With your floridly menacing cheeks
And feel zealously in love.

Though I crave reciprocity,
I scarcely mind your emotional
Independence; seeing as
I've never felt much, apart
From swimming naked at night
And rolling on wet grass,
I'm deeply thankful for this novelty.
