Wise Poem by Francis Duggan

Wise

Wise people grow older we age by the day
But not everyone grows wiser only true to say
It is a known fact as most would realize
That a young person can be very wise
A rare enough person is the wise old sage
The people who grow wiser as they do age
Today as was ever are in minority
It would be a more peaceful World to live in
if their sort were in majority
Despite those who believe they know better does say
Wise people are born wise it does seem this way
Yet wise people humanity does not celebrate
And few of their sort ever become heads of State
Wise people as ever does seem in the few
And this is not saying anything that is new.
