Well I'll crawl and I'll stumble as I drag myself back to the war,
And I'll walk past the shadows, I've walked past them many times before.

then I'll get to where we are, and sit myself down in your room,
And I'll pray that he hears me, and you'll be coming home with me soon.

But I wish I had a river so we could just all float away,
and I wish I was much stronger then I'd know for sure you'll be OK.

The time goes so slowly but fast when looked back and revue,
and I know through the hard times I've always been there for you.
