I love to live in the colourful land
Still I have so many things to mend.
When I count good deeds of my life
Surprisingly I find bad deeds are rife.
I passed my sunny days in hesitation,
‘To be or not to be’ retarded my decision.
This year I have completed my fifty,
And hungry time has devoured my agility.
My hair was soft and light
Few years ago I was straight and upright.
My piercing eyes were black and bright..
My alluring physique was trim and tight.
My complexion was enticing and fair.
My smartness was a thing to remember.
I wore a smile in my lovely face,
And was popular for my youth and grace.
I was like a hero of my small town.
But alas! My decaying leaves are falling down.
Past memories are only things in my store.
And think, I am a guest for some years more.
Yet I think days are not gone,
Still I have enough time to run.
Some noble things may yet be done,
I am determined – and I care none.
Some things to be done before the final sleep,
If I saw seeds, the posterity will reap.
