Wishes Three Poem by J.D.Fr The Sailor

Wishes Three

AH, WHAT IF YOU COULD HAVE ANYTHING YOU WANT IN THE UNIVERSE?

A Jen did arrive before me,

In manner that they do,

To my delight, gracious she,

Unto me three wishes,

She did grant with a smirk,

Be careful what you wish for,

For dreams are often nightmares,

The first I wished for happiness,

For my children, one and all,

This went well, Jen just frowned,

The second, a life challenging,

This gave the Jen a pause, granted was,

The best for last I saved,

A woman mine, who never said no,

No puppet or slave, strong willed she,

Bright and capable woman goodly true,

Yet my company she did crave,

My affections and attention she desired,

This gave the Jen a hell of a start,

She groaned and complained,

Turned blue she did with effort great,

Finally, proof, and there you were,

All that I had wished for, and much more,

Now my wishes I am with content,

For you see my Lady Love, a challenge you,

Further by your efforts happier I, stronger too,

Thus our children did succeed by and by….
