Wishes To Have Them Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wishes To Have Them

If it is to be a never.
With it thought to believe,
Dreams to have them...
Will be abandoned.
To think of dreams to ever get.
Yet...
There is an eternity.
The Earth is within it.
A Universe to forever exist.
No one has claimed to witness its beginning.
Nor is there proof,
Validating where the end of it sits.

Wishes to have them,
Will and can come true.
If they are like dreams to want.
To hold onto them until they do.
Like faith to know it kept.
And The Creator to deliver,
All of our blessings.
Just as the miracle of life,
We all have received.
To leave us at times to wonder.
Yet less we question why,
Those gifts from God we get to accept.
With it taken for granted.
Just as we do,
The air we breathe.
The Sun, Moon and Stars.
And where we are.
Inhabiting a planet we call Earth.
In a Universe no human can say they made.
To ever say never.
Or can claim to know when forever ends!
With wishes to have.
And those dreams to begin.
