Wishful Thinking Poem by Edwina Reizer

Wishful Thinking

My mind is racing.
I can't slow it down.
It won't become normal
'til you're around.
I think past today.
I wait for tomorrow.
'Cause today is empty,
too much sorrow.

My wishful thinking
keeps me sane.
An unexpected phone call
eases my pain.
I hear your voice
and feel peace inside.
I express my feelings,
don't let them hide.

My mind is at rest
for the next few days.
It almost feels normal.
I'm not in a daze.
My future's unknown
so all I can do
is content myself
with thoughts of you.
