Wishing, Missing....Clinging! ! ! Poem by ANJALI KAKATI

Wishing, Missing....Clinging! ! !

Everyday I wake up
Missing you.
And
late into the night
Lay awake,
Wishing for you.
In between,
Throughout the day
I go seeking you.
Sometimes I see you
And
In you I see glimpses of me.
A mind fighting its own
Fidgety emotion,
With an ache in the heart
Clinging on.
In our lonely wilderness
We stand rigidly
Wishing, the other right there.
Missing, what we once shared.
Each giving in
Silent surrender
To a wound which refuses to heal.
I wonder….
What are we running from?
Each other or from selves! ! !
What are we hiding?
Facts we both are aware of
Or
are plain lying to selves! ! !
I know,
Time cannot be toyed with,
Asking it to go back
Or lie still,
Neither can outrun it.
But why complicate?
When we can go on
Like before,
Two banks of a river
Always together
Yet never mingling to meet.
Why suffer?
When we can be happy being ourselves.
Cause, love is certainly no sin.
I guess,
Its not that easy
Love is a crazy emotion to feed
And to suffer in silence is destiny
Though suffering this much
is not a need.
Yet, we go on the lonely paths
Wishing, missing…..clinging! ! !
