Wishing Those Chains To Unlock Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wishing Those Chains To Unlock

Of course...
We all would like to see ourselves as 'basic'...
To someone else,
Who we find interesting...
With an arresting 'come-hither' appeal.
Teasing with just the right amount of sleaze.
Nothing overdone to undo the mood.

It can be a curse being too diversed,
And complex.
Afterall...
These approaches are about sex.
Nothing less with hopes for more.

And yet...
There are those who seek the ease of manipulation.
Especially in relationships.
They get captured after the 'hunt'.
And discover themselves,
Over time...
Grunting in regret.
Wishing those chains to unlock.
But not wanting to experience a broken heart.
