With A Doing Done Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

With A Doing Done

I've been...
Up and down.
And I've been...
One lost then found.
Looking around to recover,
Touches from another...
Reminiscing lips kissed,
To be missed.
And I've been...
Both wrong and right.
And I've had...
My sleepless nights.
Looking for every reason,
Why I had no appetite to feed my own needs.
Well...
Those days are now behind me.
To know them gone.
With aching accusations,
That left me weak not strong.
And now with a doing done,
I know where my head belongs.

I've learned,
To stay away from people.
I've learned,
To stay away from people.
I've learned,
To stay away from people.
Who take hearts to crush and break.
Yes I've learned,
To stay away from people.
I've learned,
To stay away from people.
I've learned,
To stay away from people.
Doing this to others as a game to play.

My heart,
To give it is real.
With feelings that are given.
Not abused to kill.
My heart,
To feel it is real.
With a doing done,
To neither steal nor kill.

Heartless people,
Don't know what's real.
With a doing done.
To steal and kill.

Heartless people,
Will steal and kill.
Never to know for them what's real.

The heartless,
Will steal and kill.
The heartless,
Don't know what's real to feel.
