With Eloquence Poem by Kitty Marie Lucas

With Eloquence

the justice of a madman
you'll get what you deserve
I'll cut you down when you are no longer
nothing less than perfect
as a stranger

I find you
intriguing, I'll try not to hold it against you
I like you
but then again I can find something wrong with anything

I said
don't apologize
for what they did
you'll do it down to the letter
you can't empathize with
metaphors
you can't understand any better
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed
with eloquence one can't tell the difference
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed

if you've got to kill it
do it soft and kind
shoot it right between the eyes
I like it so when gratification is instant
I don't believe in someday

if she isn't worthy of mention
how would I have known
oh oh oh oh
oh, I pay attention
I won't tell you my sources
I sense decay
I sense heartache
tell it to me straight

I said
don't apologize
for what they did
you'll do it down to the letter
you can't empathize with
metaphors
you can't understand any better
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed
with eloquence one can't tell the difference

I like it better when we have some distance
so it's not so far to run away
if I can leave you behind
it means it mattered to me
in the first place

I said
don't apologize
for what they did
you'll do it down to the letter
you can't empathize with
metaphors
you can't understand any better
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed
with eloquence one can't tell the difference
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed
you might not be in love
you might be obsessed
