Wolf Tickets Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wolf Tickets

"Whew.
That was quick.
I sold everyone I had.
And easy it was to do it."

-Mine are all gone too.-

"I came back for more.
Where is the 'Master Blaster',
Who convinced us this would do the trick.
I can't believe I only need a few more."

-Look up.
Look up into that tree.
Guess who is shaking,
Creating those leaves...
To move like they are doing it.
As if it's a breeze blowing out here.-

"You know,
If you hadn't said anything,
About a breeze not blowing.
I would have just assumed,
Those leaves were moving like that...
By themselves.
Wow.
What is that?
A bear? "

-No.
But, I will give you a clue.
Who huffs and puffs?
And got us to believe,
With us and the others...
All of our enemies houses,
Could be blown down.-

"No.
No way."

-Yes.
Yes way.
Shaking like a leaf.-

"Is this a new strategy?
Wassup?
I don't get it."
