Woman Poem by Chinonso Nzeakor

Woman

I have seen how nature deals with you
Tenderly, and softly
Like egg
Like hidden treasure.
Shielding you from life's harsher realities.

I have heard how nature calls your name
Mildly, and softly
Like a whisper
Like the early morning breeze
Brushing past my skin.

And I have weighed your value on scales:
Immeasurable, priceless, countless
Like the sand on the distant sea shore.

You are woman.
You are beautiful.
Let no one...
Take that away.
