Women Cannot Be Free. Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Women Cannot Be Free.

Rating: 2.8

The chastity of woman is not practised voluntarily.
It is coerced by generations by patriarchy
With the dire consequence of death and estrangement.
In a cage, she feeds without lust, lusts without food.
Men never free women; Masters never free slaves.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Its partially good poem…patriarchal mindset [excuse me Sir] Wonder I why, ‘The chastity of woman is not practised voluntarily.’? Are they weak? Patriarchy is a medieval system needs sanitization where no harmony.and full of anomaly Voted 10 Ms. Nivedita UK
