Weal and wealth walks the path of verity,
Name and fame, sacrifice and charity,
Knowledge and learning, if midnight oil burnt,
Talent comes if work done and skills well learnt.

Transliteration of the subhāśhita along with the meanings of Sanskrit words is given as under:

satya anu-sāriņī lakśhmīh, kīrtih tyāgah anusāriņī |
abhyāsa sāriņī vidyā, buddhih karma anusāriņī ||

satya: truth, verity
anu-sāriņī: one that follows (lakśhmī)
lakśhmīh: (Goddess of)money and wealth
kīrtih:good name and fame, prestige
tyāgah: sacrifice, giving up
anusāriņī: follower of
abhyāsa: regular study and practice
(anu) sāriņī:follower of
vidyā: be knowledge and learning
buddhih: intellect and wisdom power of discrimination
karma anusāriņī: follows duty and action/deed
