Wordy Paradox Poem by Grace Diane Jessen

Wordy Paradox

Rating: 4.8

"Consult the dictionary
if you cannot spell a word."
A dozen times I've heard
the teacher tell it.
But this advice has always
seemed to me a bit absurd.
How can I look it up
if I can't spell it?

Yes, my former English teacher, Mr, Hunsaker, would ask that of our class. Good poem. Thanks.

A common dilemma. As a teacher I heard the same question many times. I always told them something like: Look for it the way you think it is spelled and see if it is there. If not, how else could it be? Try again.
