Would Jesus Like This?

If you are in pain,
Let me say a prayer,
Then take you to a healer.
If you are hungry,
I will not pray,
Let me feed you.
If you are naked,
I will not take you to the sanctuary,
Let me give you my coat.
If you are despised,
Let me quote you a good word.
If you are lonely,
Let me be your friend.
If you are lost,
Let me lead you to the Savior.
Jesus,
After all you have done for me,
Why should I be ashamed of you?

poet Helen Hunt Jackson

The month of carnival of all the year,
When Nature lets the wild earth go its way,
And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
