Wounds Leak Pain Poem by Hannah Hebditch

Wounds Leak Pain

Watered down fears rolling over
Hills, swimming into your cracked disappointment
And trying to stitch a smile back together
But it’s already splintered out
A million arrows piecing the tunnel caging emotions
It leaks down misery’s walls
Washing away the last pieces
Of happiness, cutting its grip
And watching bloodstain scrape daggers
Across your thoughts and considerations
Possessing them even more

Pouring poison into your dreams
As sickness creeps across untriggered wounds
Bleeding out the acid captured within
Activating the pain you couldn’t feel before

But all you can really feel is a pocket knife sawing through
Your own life’s rope
And pure white blinding your now lifeless body
