Sunrise, sleepless nights
light
to read
Jasmine tea, macaroni and cheese.
Photographs, autographs;
reams of recycled paper
dreams, water vapor
Alphabet letters
letters from friends,
antiques, souvenirs
odds and ends
windows and doors
Distant shores,
constellations
celebrations
Romance, happenstance
eloquence
Freedom and time;
varnish, turpentine
Sifters, strains
cells and veins
Listening ears
memories, fears,
heart
Things fallen apart
and what stays whole
Old souls
