Wrong Side Of Reality Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wrong Side Of Reality

You allowed your mind to be wasted.
Spending time being manipulated.
By others,
Investing with you an infestation...
On the wrong side of reality to create.

A reality to have never existed.
Yet with your participation to insist it,
Gone is truth from your mouth to produce.
Replaced with an existence totally fantasized.
And now,
After time from your mind has spent...
On a long hiatus.
Awakening from misdeeds you instigated.
You expect forgiveness given.

But...
From who?

Those victimized and devastated.
With their credibilities discredited.
Kicked to the curb and humiliated.
The ones who did not deserve being desrespected.
And yet you expect forgiveness from them heard?
You have some nerve.

What from you,
Do you expect they will believe?
A truth to hear it?
From one who chose with others to deceive.
What will you use as honesty to present?
A note from your psychiatrist,
Proving your mind...
Has been completely cured and mended.
And how would that be of benefit,
To the ones who lived their lives...
Doing their best,
With efforts to endeavor...
Praying you and others like you,
Would simply disappear.
As if that experience for them,
Had never been lived.
Keeping your reality away to stay,
Kept where it is.
Away!
