X -Cat Poem by Barry Van Allen

X -Cat

If there is a man that could be a bridge,
it is a former Englishman,
although he shows no inclination.

If there was a way to bridge the gap,
to stop his recent fellows,
from being bombs,
... just maybe, he's the one!
... and still, he shows no inclination.

It seems that everything that he did before,
and everything that he taught us,
was some sort of a ruse...
and he can't understand why we're confused.

Is he waiting for the proper moment ?
If it's not now, when will it be ?
... how many dead does he exactly need ?

One man cannot make a difference - - -
I'm glad that Gandhi didn't think that way !

There is a whole new generation,
that needs to hear from him,
there is a whole old generation,
that needs to be reminded!

I have heard that he's a teacher,
for ten or twenty kids ...
but, what real teacher could resist ,
a chance to teach the world ?

Perhaps, he is waiting on the platform,
for the 'Peace-train' to show up!
... when he should be the engineer!
