Xedan Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Xedan

You hated me because of old hostilities;
But, the sea came and its waves covered you up!
And you now lay waste and broken,
Because your walls shook at the noise of the horsemen.
Hook, shook!
To be ashamed and to be confounded in your ways;
However, let it be known to you that, peace is better than war!
And, my name so sweet is called Xedan.
