Yapping Tears Of A Widow Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Yapping Tears Of A Widow

"Yathaa vaari vahaa puuraa........"

Prime life fluid poured out from her hearty pot
Filling receptacle with merits, to go with his soul
Ensembled, nearest and dearest, amidst chanting
Evoked blessing, they, through weeping hearts

Not water, but tears Dear that filled the cup
Wonder, I, from where they came from
For, I have already shed it far too much
Over years we're together in the struggle tough

Ever you saw to your gain in every deal
And then children too were happy, after all
Never chose to dispute you, lest you brawl
Cared less, how I stood undeserved growl

Rationing, in the guise of saving and thrift
Ensured, you had everything ud lib
Being liberal for your smoke and booze
Celebrity, I adorned with, for cutting things down

You esteemed yourself above every one else
And made me to remain within my own shell
Heart attack, you chose, not I, and you got it
I alone, now onward row the boat to my wit
