World is in slumber
While you are being driven by hunger
Feels, knows no danger, eh!
Why need to be a plumber?
Might is all that matters
When everything is in tatters
Being human makes no better
In a duet, looking somewhat bitter
How can I ignore, you are a human?
However discerning the course you’ve been in
It makes me grieving, weeping and crying
Because, I too, like you, am a human being
Here I am crying, crying and crying
For no bona-fide pain I am carrying
It’s a pain my heart was imbibing
Because, I too, like you, am a human being
Simple question to you, mighty Creator
Why on earth are You such a discriminator
To differentiate, divide and denounce
Your own children in the name of a balance?
As your first attempt at writing poems in English, this is indeed remarkable! When we see the disparities among human beings, we tend to ask the same question at the end of the poem to our Creator, though much of the disparities are man made! Seeing so many, leading a subhuman life in impoverished and unhygienic surroundings, any sensitive soul will be moved to tears! A powerful and poignant write!
