Yes I Am Black! Poem by Rinchen Dhendup

Yes I Am Black!

Some fellow call me, hey black man!
Hello! Without fury I grin at them;
That's what I am, nothing to be upset of;
For I am contented with what God dyed me.

But at times I can barely absorb it;
Do I pester you, I ask them?
If then why not you color me?
Or if you're pleased, fine I am then.

Often when I ask God, why did you coat me black?
A justified optimism whispers to me then;
If everyone was to be fair, there won't be any black;
To remind the world, without black color is incomplete.

The poem firmly presents a case against racial discrimination- in simple and unequivocal terms. Thanks. God, why did you coat me black? 'To remind the world, without black color is incomplete'.
