You? Poem by Whitney Williamson

You?

You say you live in your own little world,
But does that world involve me?

From the moment I spotted your scenic yet delicate eyes,
You had me in your fingertips.

True love has never came to your door,
But now I can see why.

Once someone attempts to get close,
You push them away.

But I know, in your heart, you don’t want to push any longer,
You want me to open your eyes, and see the world piece by piece.

Every moment you stare into my delicate eyes,
It will only bring us closer, as if were two bodies, with one heart.

Everyone deserves that true companion,
The one who appreciates every silly little mistake that’s made

Without this companion you would serve no purpose,
Like an immaculate rose without a single soul to observe its beauty.

But you see, that’s what you are to me,
You’re my lovely rose, my miracle without a purpose, the most unique piece of work on this planet.

And yet,
I still don’t know how you feel about me.
