in the gray dawn
Moving like a shadow across my heart
From the corner of my mind
I feel a presence
a fading memory
of a moment in time
unchanging
elusive
thick as honey
with a bittersweet afterglow
Eyes closed
I can see clearly
as you drift away
Only to reappear in my dreams
