You And Me Poem by Larisa Rzhepishevska

You And Me

An autumn fixes the day for all
A rare bird cries in the sky,
You can see an opposite wall,
I have only a wish to fly.

Only diamonds are your stuff,
Your wishes are brimming over.
Material thing I have enough,
I want to be an art doer.

Your friends are shouting in unison:
Leave her alone, she is a crazy poet.
But my only wish is to be your swan,
To sing with you a lovely duet.

I am ready to live from hand to mouth,
There were days of hunger and satiety,
I can walk barefoot on the north,
For you it’s just beyond capacity.

For me the nights are shining stars,
For you they are just darkness.
You better watch the shine of cars,
In stars you see the starkness.

The end is the beginning of the new.
If you have strength for virgin soil,
You’ll memorize the days we knew,
It’s really a royal toil.
