You Are Me Poem by Ronda Ross

You Are Me

My heart is broken, my body mangled, torn, and raped.
My body is beaten, broken, forgotten.
My eyes turned upwards, towards an empty sky.
My hands reached out for nothing.
Blood-filled tears, dried-cracked lips
Hoarse-shaky voice, tortured soul.

Forget me, throw me away
Do not talk about me, do not remember me.
Free yourself from me, Be free of me.
Show no compassion for this retched creature.
For this is where you will be, if you remember me
We are the same, you are me.
