You Do Not Destroy Your Life In Drinking Wine, In Being An Alcoholic, O, You Teenager Lass! Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

You Do Not Destroy Your Life In Drinking Wine, In Being An Alcoholic, O, You Teenager Lass!

You do not,
do not destroy
your golden life
after taking wine,
turning into an alcoholic,
O, you, lass,
a belle,
golden and glistening,
looking like
a damsel!

What a beautiful
face
have you got,
what a beauty
are you
and you destroying
your life
in alcoholism
after being
an alcoholic.

Think, just think you,
you yourself,
who,
who will serve you,
serve and see you
when you will turn
into an addict,
O, you golden lass,
O, you golden brown girl!

O maid, you are,
you are still
a teenaged girl,
unknown
on the path of life
lest you stumble and fall,
you a simple girl
of your parents!

They will make you drink.
drink to full
and will leave you
on the pathways,
the footpaths of life
when,
when the bad days will prevail upon!
