You Fold Around Me Poem by Gert Strydom

You Fold Around Me

(in answer to Herman de Coninck)

You fold around me with days that are full of rapture like sin,
where days and nights do pass without us noticing
where your mouth, your body and you are more than a human being to me,
where you come into my life like the drizzle that falls for days,
where nowhere else but in your heart and in your love I am home
and for you and with you I want to wander right through the world,
you make me more than a part of you
as if it is Eden before the snake came there,
where every word is sincere
and full of truth with an eternal impact
and through eons a person
does not have to say the word love
to know the depth of it.
