'' You Gave Us No Choice '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' You Gave Us No Choice ''

As the Aliens descended,
We looked on in awe,
Would we be befriended?
Would they like what they saw?

Creating weapons of woe,
To maim and kill,
Fighting toe to toe,
Is it fear we'd instil?

Watching others die,
Starving to death,
Feed us they cry,
Exhaling their last breath.

Wasting natural resources,
In the name of greed,
Following deadly courses,
Watching others bleed.

Creating mass extinctions,
For us is the norm,
We make no distinctions,
Any port in a storm.

Encouraging inequality,
As the few amass wealth,
Treated with frivolity,
As some die of ill health.

Creation of an elite,
More equal than you?
Forced to bow at their feet,
Sadly, it's true.

A depraved human race,
Hell bent on destruction,
No respect for our space,
Would that be their deduction?

Our visitors though surprised,
Said the Earth can rejoice,
Your end we've devised,

‘' You Gave Us No Choice ‘'
