You Have Poem by Alyssa Lynn

You Have

You have your therapy I have my music. You have your lover, I have myself. You hold in your hands your conscience, while mine is practically screaming off the page. You see paint splotches on my skin. You can’t see the open wounds hidden, buried. You have this dream of the person you want to be, I have the knowledge of knowing who I am today. You have your action movies I have my chick flicks. You have your life ahead of you, I suppose I do too. You have your lies, I have my vulnerability. I question who to trust, why to bother loving. But what do you question? What do you believe? You have your life, I have mine. You have your fantasies, I have my realities. You have your realism, I have my daydreams. You have your fears, as do I have mine. You have your questions, and I have my answers. You have your sports and I have my poetry. You have what makes you, you as I have what makes me me.
