You Kissed Me Poem by Mackenzie Scholte

You Kissed Me

Rating: 4.5

Standing in the cold,
Facing each other
Watching our breath,
Escape into the night
Looking in your eyes,
Seeing the horizon reflected there
And the city lights beyond
''Weird, '' you said
Then suddenly,
Unexpectedly
You kissed me
I closed my eyes
Trying to savor it
And then,
Like my breath
The moment is gone
And so are you
Getting in your truck
Driving away
Your scent lingering
In the crisp, night air
Your taste,
Sweet on my lips

This is really sweet! ! ! ! I love it! ! ! I just have one suggestion, last year in my English class we worked for a long time on 'Exploding the Moment' and adding a lot of detail so that a short period of time can take pages and pages to describe, and I think this could maybe be a bit more powerful if you gave some more detail, and made the middle longer. Just a suggestion. GREAT WRITE. Rach
