You Never Called Me A Good Girl Then... Poem by Minnie Gehrig

You Never Called Me A Good Girl Then...

when i am with you,
i wear full body's
of gauze
n band-aid my mouth shut,
n wrap my thoughts in medical tape,

all to keep the ooze of me off your
porceline skin,
your godlike body statuesque in the dawn
n you whisper what a good girl i am,

my self hood is screaming in the darkness,
bound against the full pout of your lips,
afraid to let the light out,
the blood of my soul eases out of
this white encasement,

n yet when you fell in love,
i was a mirthful
n merciless laughing goddess,
i slept among the fey
n rubys diamonds of sharp whit
spilled from my happy lips,
n my feet danced a trail of flame,

so when you held me at night
against your body
my soul came undone
wrapped itself around you,
so you knew
for 1 minute
you held a treasure that belonged to no man
n you never called me a good girl then....
but your smile was real....
n my love was open.......................
