You Ruined Us Poem by Lyssa Renea

You Ruined Us

Rating: 4.0

The demon inside you wants to play
Will you let it escape?
Can you feel him clawing in your skin?
He scratches and bites and yells
He wants you to let him out
He wants you to cry and bleed
And suffer inside of him
He’ll burn you, and stab you,
He’ll make you scream in agony
He wants out. Will you let him go?
He wants to be able to see you pay,
Pay for making him suffer,
Pay for locking him inside, never to be free.
“Don’t let him go”, the world will beg.
You won’t listen. No one ever does.
You’ll give in, you’ll let him out.
He’ll make you suffer, make the world suffer.
Because at first…. He didn’t physically hurt you
He whispered things in your ear
Made you believe things that aren’t true
Told you things that made you hurt yourself
You made yourself bleed, he didn’t touch you.
But you’ll torture yourself with his lies
And let him escape, but he did nothing
You ruined the world, because you couldn’t control it
When he gets out, we’re all doomed
You’ll really hurt then. Everyone will.
Everyone will suffer because of you.
You couldn’t handle the demon’s lies.
No one can really blame you, but they all will.
They’ll blame you for ruining the world,
For ruining their little “peaceful” life
They push down their demons, but curse you for yours.
They’ll never forgive you. You destroyed the world,
With just one small phrase, yelled for everyone to hear.
“JUST GET OUT! Please. Just get out” you’ll say, you’ll scream!
And then he’s free, and with that last breath
The world will whisper, “Good bye”
