You'Ve Got The Shine Of A Star In Your Eyes Poem by Jayson Howard

You'Ve Got The Shine Of A Star In Your Eyes

This time I’ll do it right,
lay next to you, and hold on tight.
We’ll look at the stars,
I’ll look into your eyes,
find out where we are,
find out this night.
And I’ll see, what tomorrow brings,
as long as you’re next to me.

Muttering words,
getting them right,
I try and try,
but they’re never in time.
Engraving memories,
keeping you here with me,
And I’ll see, what tomorrow brings,
as long as you’re next to me.

No car ride is as sweet,
no scene is as neat,
without you, next to me.
No night could be better,
then us being together,
happy, and carefree.

I could try my hardest to hide it,
but deep inside I can’t fight it,
I try and try,
But I’d rather die,
if I could never, look into your eyes,
every second of every day.
And I’ll see, what tomorrow brings,
as long as I can get to my feet…

This time I’ll do it right,
lay next to you, and hold on tight,
look into your eyes,
and take a car ride,
and I’ll see, where we are,
when you come with me to look at the stars.
