You Verses You Poem by Perry Sophocleous

You Verses You

To my heart I'm a prisoner, to my mind I'm a slave
But with no other way to function and no other way to breath
Heartache and an early grave is all I shall concede.
But on this journey I grow stronger, with nothing left to bleed
Rival myself no longer I shall die by my own creed
There is only one force that will continue my descent too
Only one power that will stop me from doing what I can do
and that my good friend … is you.”
